Tuesday = Viva La Vida!!

Let's get down to it -
100 hard core minutes on the bike, baby!!

Nat on the bike at 7 PM (which means I was done at 9 PM - did a tiny bit of core, but not enough. Will schedule more time tomorrow:)....feeling the effects of losing that hour of sleep but happy to go to the gym in total daylight! #Springiscoming!!

Cause I believe in Viva La Vida... how about you? ;0

I can play this like over and over (and over).... when I am on the bike - this song ENERGIZES me!!

Baking homemade chocolate and vanilla cupcakes (+ frosting) on a Monday afternoon (post Daylight Saving Time) for her sweet boy can bring a #motherrunner so much happiness...

And in our house, we sing a lot of this....!!

Which is also an awesome workout song!!

For the next 4 months or so, I am going to be either on the bike or in the pool.
This is important ----->
I won't be doing (much) freestyle in the pool or breaststroke or butterfly - I will be RUNNING in the pool. Cause I am trying to get ready for a marathon - not a triathlon.
I'll be on the (mostly stationary) bike riding and riding and riding...
These cross training exercises will help keep my fitness intact, but not just any type of fitness - my RUNNING fitness. I'll also be doing my core exercise routine 5-6 days a week and I'll incorporate yoga (love the stretch - runners muscles are so tight...) also - as long as it doesn't bother my knee.
I remember being on a long run with some friends and we were talking about cross training. One of my friends said that cross training is good (as a supplement), but as a long distance runner, nothing takes the place of running.
TRUTH!!
I read this interesting article today from Runner's Connect:

This is not to say that I won't try out some fun new classes and keep things interesting. But at the end of the day my main focus is becoming a faster, better runner. I will focus on specific routines that will help me get there until I am back on the road.

I roasted some delicious beets today...

For our beet pancake brinner tomorrow!!

What is your favorite brinner meal?

Favorite workout song(s)?

Happiness is Running Life!

Natalie
